...that was that.
This... is a much bigger tear. It'll take longer for me to patch it up with the beautiful tapestry of happy memories that Zeb gave me during our time together. I'll need to pick up the stitches around the edges and splice stitch by stitch.
At least he's not hurting anymore.
...lost anyone so dear to me. Sure, folks in my biofam and periphery have passed away, but it was either so expected that grief had already passed by the time they did, or they were distant enough that the hole they left in my life was easier to repair. A few stitches of memory and platitude and...

This is the first time that I've...
...would want me to remember him. It's just that those are the memories that are the freshest and most raw. I know they'll pass, but that eventuality isn't really helpful now.
All of our buddies have been helping out. Talking, being kind... My housemate, my brother, and his partner came to pick...
...reality of the empty space and the quiet are what really hurts.
I was afraid to go to sleep earlier cuz I was scared of the dreams that I might have. Turns out the dreaming's not bad, it's the flashbang of reality when I wake up and the memory of those last hours.
I know that's not how Zeb...
I have many feelings about this situation, and because I know I'm wired differently, I'm afraid of what my feelings might do to me. I know that Zeb understands. He was wired differently too. I love you, babe, and I miss you. I know that you're always gonna be in my heart, but right now the...

Yesterday, my bearfriend @zebursothera.bsky.social was taken off of life support. He left his body at 3:33pm on a sunny but cold winter day.
I was there with his family. I held his hand the entire time. By the time the doctor came in and pronounced, my palm print was embossed on top of Zeb's hand.
The PRS-300 and 350 are the smaller options from Sony, they're more pants pocket sized than shirt pocket sized. The Kobo Mini is similar, i believe. The Boox Palma is cell phone sized.

Huh. I thought I had it set to require alt text. Ahem.
ALT TEXT: An ebook reader, displaying text from Annihilation be Jeff Vandermeer. The device is easily small enough to fit in the palm of the photographer's hand, and likely other bodily containment areas as well.
Just got a new Xteink X4 e-reader today. Hopefully this will help me to actually read books rather than bop around on my phone. Two days ago I spent most of my (snowed-in) shift at work reading books on my Sony PRS-300. This is even more portable, so I can actually keep it on me at all times!

Dear #FedEx,
I appreciate that you have a "Sign Digitally" option for parcels in absentia.
However, "Print this page, sign it, and attach it to your door" is NOT "signing digitally." It is "signing analog with extra steps!"
Cheers!
