Agree on the comms. The NDP has so many low hanging fruit to choose from, but the comms team is way too slow and not agile enough to take advantage of almost daily snafus/outrageous policies from the UCP.

It's not Nenshi, it's the NDP They're no longer the little party that could, they're the party that did; and they need to fight or fade away.

Is it both? As Deirdre mentions 2019, NDP not running on their record. I was yelling at the TV as I watched the debate. UCP set the agenda and Rachel fell for it. Got blocked for saying their comms has a problem back then, some unelected snowflake officials.

Opinion: Alberta needs to lead β€” not leave β€” Canada Alberta doesn't need to leave Canada. Alberta needs to lead Canada; to create jobs, attract investment, and build long-term prosperity.

β€œIt’s tempting to think we’d be better off on our own. But every day this separatist conversation continues, Alberta loses ground where it matters most: investment, jobs, and economic growth.”

U.S. sub sinks Iranian warship off Sri Lanka, killing 87 and expanding war zone A U.S. submarine sank an Iranian warship off the southern coast of Sri Lanka, killing dozens of sailors and dramatically widening Washington's pursuit of the Iranian navy.

A US submarine sinking a lonely, dinky Iranian surface ship an ocean away from the theater of the main conflictβ€”and 9000
miles from North Americaβ€”makes it pretty clear the US is fighting a general war, without the declaration required by the Constitution. www.reuters.com/world/asia-p...

Trump Opens the Pandora’s Box of Assassination Killing anyone without a trial, let alone a foreign leader, involves a moral choice.

A big can of worms: assassinating leaders. Good pieces from @jrovner.bsky.social @brookings.edu and Tim Naftali @theatlantic.com on why presidents since Ford have sworn off (mostly) this tool and what using it now means. 8/ www.brookings.edu/articles/aft...

The thinking in the wh, to the extent there is any, seem to be β€œif we can just hold out long enough the Iranians will run out of conventional munitions and have to say uncle”, which even if true just leads to Iran opening the asymmetric warfare toolbox and I really don’t think we like how that goes

Polymarket has created a betting market on the use of nuclear weapons. Everyone involved in this should be put in prison for life.

Trump threatens to cut off trade with Spain over air bases Spain is a member of the European Union, a 27-country bloc that operates a common trade policy, so any attempt to single out Madrid would create friction with other member states, like Germany, France and Italy.

The irrational strongman we’ve been warned about is here His name is Donald J. Trump.

"Trump's attack on Iran is terrifying in part because it's so untethered from policy goals and logic. He offered a range of half-hearted explanations for his rush to war, but the conflicting excuses only underlined the obvious truth β€” he attacked Iran because he felt like it."

The YouTube algorithm pushed this to me a few weeks ago (it knows me too well), and I went down a rabbit hole that involved reading a history of Canadian music (2000-2005) and mainlining Heated Rivalry.
