Just too bad they will destroy birds and wildlife all around them. Free-ranging cats, both domestic and feral, are estimated to kill billions of birds and mammals each year. This is a significant problem, as cats are opportunistic predators that will kill whatever prey they can catch.

When I was a kid and my mom sent me to wash my hands before meals, I would sometimes fake it: I’d run water, then to make it really convincing, move my fingers in the stream. I remember deciding that having come to that, I may as well wash them.
