But in some ways, Arkansas's implementation, where we still saw massive disenrollment, was a rosy scenario. Things could have been — may be, in the future — worse.

If you want to read a new book coming out but don't want to buy it, a great thing you can do is ask your local library to order it. The more requests they get, the more likely they are to acquire it and then lots of people will get to read it who othewise wouldn't.

Summed up, the proposed Medicaid cuts in the GOP's menu of reconciliation ideas ($2.3T) make up over one-third of the total proposed cuts (~$5.5T).

But it's not obvious that you can just add these policies up in a 1+1=2 sort of fashion — the policies interact with each other.

A man charged with attacking his wife was released on GPS monitoring. He is now suspected of killing her. The wife's fatal stabbing in Portage Park came a day after her husband was in court Monday on charges he choked and tried to kidnap her last month. He was found dead later Tuesday.

This Cook Co judge has been potentially negligent in cases with two men -this year- who have made good on their domestic abuse threats and killed people, including an 11yo child. I think he's only been a judge for 2 years. Seems problematic. chicago.suntimes.com/crime/2024/1...
