Does anyone want to discuss "The Love Songs of W.E.B. Du Bois" by Honorée Fanonne Jeffers with me in a bit? I'm about halfway through and it has been a very long time since I have been so immersed in a book and desperate to analyze its storylines and characters

(5/5) I don't have conclusive thoughts about this development, especially since I don't know what they will do with it, but right now I just feel like "???????!!!!!!" I think I need to somehow FULLY separate the book series and the show and almost accept the show as AU lol

(4/) Although I do not blame the show at all for DG's slow timeline in writing the final book, I saw that she was not consulted for this timeline, and that Faith is dead in book canon. I actually usually appreciate the show's divergences, but I hope and PRAY we do not end up in a GOT situation.

(3/) Faith being alive also ABRUPTLY brings time travel and supernaturalism (which I really, really love as a thread and background to the OL universe) to the forefront in an undeveloped way. I am not sure if the questions that arise will be satisfactorily answered in season 8.

(2/) Both Claire and Jamie have experienced layers of grief for multiple people and for each other. Losing Faith was gut-wrenching and foundational to how they defined their relationship and how they understand Brianna.

(1/) okay, so I just saw a gifset of the scene from 2.13 where Claire is talking to Jamie's grave about how much Brianna reminds her of him. and it actually made me upset about the season 7 finale twist. I've concluded that the reveal almost cheapens Claire and Jamie's grief over the years.
