My recent purchase of Edgar Froese’s autobiography comes with a nice bookmark of the man himself looking over the pages, all kind of regal like … nice

β€˜Country Hai East Cotton’, β€˜Poor Moon’ and β€˜Haw’ on CD. All are great. I have a couple of downloads somewhere too. Need to look these out again.

Next up this morning with JUZZ II (2026, Bandcamp), just released and an album that changes from the heavier orientated debut. More melodic passages, less intense in some respects, but with some superb compositions nonetheless. Glad it’s not about a formula, and they’ve changed it up 😎

So first in starting with a primeval scream from the band to announce the forthcoming scuzz, we have JUZZ and their self-titled debut. Blues rock meets euro jazz head on and it’s majestic stuff. Loving it. #bandcampfriday

David Bowie released his ninth studio album β€œYoung Americans” on this day in 1975.
It includes a collaboration with John Lennon on β€œFame” and β€œAcross the Universe”.

What are your thoughts on this album?

Second listen to this new release, David Stapleton, 'Quiet Fire' (Tidal, Bandcamp, 2026). Edition Records founder, and a producer as well, and some interesting collaborators and guests with Nils Petter Molvaer featuring too. Very relaxing and engaging music.

Working back, original 'Dreamweavers' release (2020, Tidal, Bandcamp) from Mark de Clive-Lowe. Really enjoyable slab of modern/urban jazz, beautifully delivered. Need to dig in a bit further here as album II is also very nice indeed!

New EP from this great band, Black Flower, and β€˜Motions’ (2026, Bandcamp). Fusing loads of different influences together very skillfully. Could so easily get bogged down, but it just absolutely glides along 😎

New to me, Mark de Clive-Lowe, with β€˜Dreamweavers II’ (2026, Tidal). New to me and really enjoyed. Modern jazz with a weave indeed, that of world music/beats about it. Really enjoyable easy on the ear, and now need to find the first release … 😎

Way into work music, Julian Lage (and friends), β€˜Scenes from Above’ (2026, Tidal). Great album on just a first listen, really quite lively in an understated sort of way, and a nice early listen. Worth checking out …
