The Eagles went 18-0 in Northern Lights play in 2024-25, finishing 20-4 overall and reaching the Sectional semis for the first time in school history.

Solon Springs/Northwood’s Penelope Burfield moves up 8 spots and 17 seconds from the 2024 race finishing in 21:05 at today’s WIAA D3 State Meet.

Alyssa Fossum had a stellar State Meet debut, finishing 43rd in 20:33 & was the Northern Lights Conference fastest runner today.

Send off this morning in Solon Springs for the State qualifiers.

Penelope returns to the meet after competing last year as a Freshman and this is Alyssa’s first time after just missing qualifying in 2024.

Northern Lights Conference has announced their All Conference Team and Solon Springs had three athletes named.

First Team: Senior Audrey Swanson
Second Team: Senior Kendall Nelson
Honorable Mention: Freshman Addison McCuskey

Superior, Northwestern, SS/N send athletes to state cross country Penelope Burfield and Alyssa Fossum will represent Solon Springs/Northwood while Sophie Navarro and Elena Almonte will run for Northwestern and Superior, respectively.

Solon’s Dylan Taggart is the Dog’s 5th finisher.
