I don't want my fridge to have a camera or Wi-Fi. I don't want my dishwasher to be smart. I don't want my washing machine to text me.

In fact, I kinda miss knobs and dials and knowing big appliances would last 20 years and could still be repaired.

i’d personally like to examine purity culture and how media consumption has become a sort of performance of morality; it’s very tied to the discomfort associated with ‘problematic’ or ‘dark’ themes and conflating discomfort with real harm—which is even more interesting when it’s explicitly fiction

my friend and i were discussing PhDs today (she’s doing one, i’m applying) and we were talking about how fan culture would be a really interesting topic

my field is (social) psychology, and i’m hoping to look at moral disgust sensitivity; how we react to non-harmful but disgusting phenomena

Assuming all fanfiction is written poorly really just shows you've never been caught in the chokehold of a 150k slowburn that changed the course of your life at 2:40am written by someone whose username has 4 Zs in it and they only wrote one fic and then vanished like an ethereal legend.

I love artworks where you zoom in and see that they're all erratic paint strokes and brush marks that look incoherent but seeing it as a whole looks so polished and refined and detailed and god I just love art
