It’s that time again. I got my flu shot today.

Labor made it free because it saves lives - and it needs to stay that way.

The LNP has finally bowed to pressure and employed a doctor at Kilcoy Hospital.

This is a big win for the community who didn’t have a doctor at their emergency department 24/7.

Today they revealed they’ll cut 300 beds from the Bundaberg Hospital.

Tools are down and workers sacked on the Redcliffe Hospital.

They’ve delayed building the QLD Cancer Centre by at least 3 years.

David Crisafulli promised there would be no cuts to our health system.

Since David Crisafulli became Premier, ambulance ramping has increased month on month.

It’s now at 40.5%.

That’s after they promised that they’d drive down ramping wait times.

And his solution is to gut Labor’s hospital expansion program.

Today this Government announced that they’ve scrapped that promise and will replace the rail with buses from Birtinya to Maroochydore.

Yet another broken promise from this Government.

The people of the Sunshine Coast deserve better.

David Crisafulli promised he would deliver heavy rail to Maroochydore by 2032, “no ifs, no buts, no shortcuts”.

Tomorrow we’ll see the truth about what this LNP Government has been secretly planning.

And what they will cut to deliver it.

FACT: David Crisafulli promised there would be no new stadiums.

David Crisafulli has been a long-time opponent of a new stadium.

He promised he wouldn’t build one.

But it seems that was just a lie.

This LNP Government promised no cuts to our hospital projects or health system.

Now that’s just another broken promise.

David Crisafulli needs to step up and reverse his decision, so the community can get the expansion that they were promised and they need.

David Crisafulli has ordered that work stop on the construction of our Redcliffe Hospital Expansion from next Friday.

We put shovels in the ground last year to get this 204 bed expansion project online.

But David Crisafulli’s stop work order has resulted in many workers being made redundant.

David Crisafulli is standing in the way of more affordable homes being built right now.

This LNP Government needs to stop blocking housing projects and get on with the job of building.

They have a phone counselling team where you can speak directly with a counsellor or midwife - at 1800 4 women.

Incredibly important work that I couldn’t be prouder to support.

Supporting Queensland women starts with investing in healthcare and support services.

Emma and the team at Women’s Health and Equality Queensland offer counselling, therapy and health education for women across the state.

Our Bill to lock in 50 cent fares forever was thrown out of Parliament - but we won’t stop fighting to make them permanent here in Queensland.

Queenslanders deserve to know whether David Crisafulli will break his election commitment to not build a new stadium.

URGENT: David Crisafulli must step up and ensure evicted homeless people are provided crisis accommodation.

Getting our schools back on their feet is such an important first step for their communities.

Some schools have really copped it - like Dakabin State School in my patch.

But thanks to my dad, Principal Michael Drake and Rhiannyn Douglas, it’s now looking just a little neater.

That’s why just now, along with other Labor members who represent the Moreton Bay region, I’ve written to this LNP State Government.

I’ve asked that they include Moreton Bay in their relief funding immediately.

Because that’s only fair.

Moreton Bay hasn’t been included in the disaster relief grants for Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

That is absolutely not good enough.

As Tropical Cyclone Alfred approaches it’s important that you are taking the time to get ready.

We met with the Moreton Bay Local Disaster Management Committee this morning.

The message is that many areas could be facing extended power outages, flooding and isolation.

The message is simple: get ready.

We have a big few days ahead of us in the south east.

But we’ll get through it. We always do.
