The amount of effort it would take to decouple from US companies. Services you can find alternatives, but all of our computers and phones rely on them for updates. The one I'm most worried about now is Action Network because I can imagine a hostile government shutting that down.

In 2014 I met Australian traffic researcher Ian Johnston at a conference in Edmonton. I think often about something he said, and this week shared his words with a colleague: "If your plan is not for zero deaths, then your plan is for some deaths to happen"

I for one am absolutely ASTONISHED that privatising our public services in order to make shareholders rich didn't result in better, cheaper, more efficient public services.
