I never took Tylenol prior to a surgery due to the potentially perceived toxicity to the liver. I was surprised how much was prescribed, and how it still was effective for pain relief and remained safe. Of course I didn’t drink then. And I kept track of amounts though.

The Vicodin bottle would have had labels and the pharmacist would have verbally said something too. Personal responsibility and cognitive literacy is very important.

Too much of anything is harmful. Even simple water.

Clearly labeled warning dosages on all bottles and drug insert warnings for prescriptions.
