What I learned from this is that plein air is hard, but gouache is fun, and nature is pretty. And if I get to hang out someplace nice and come out with a kinda-ugly painting the size of a post-it, well that’s alright with me.

Devil’s Punchbowl on the Spruce Railroad hiking trail on Lake Crescent. I love this place and someday I hope I’m brave enough to take a dip.
