Co-hosted by our #JWACS Editors Maria-Adriana Deiana and Hannah West, we brought together museum professionals to reflect on the curation of exhibitions representing conflict in Northern Ireland.

#BISA2025 saw us host a public panel on 'Contested heritage: Curating conflict in and about Northern Ireland' hosted at the Royal Ulster Rifles Museum in Belfast (and site of the future UNTOLD The Museum).

Her inter-disciplinary research employs creative methods to explore military cultures/behaviours, women’s military history and counterinsurgency/human security. She is a former Naval Air Engineer and Co-Chair of the Defence Research Network.

Hannah is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for Equity in the Uniformed Public Services (CEEUPS) and the Centre for Military Women's Research (CMWR) at Anglia Ruskin University.

The Editorial Team of Dr Tom Allbeson, Dr Maria-Adriana Deiana and Dr Samraghni Bonnerjee are delighted to welcome Dr Hannah West as their newest Co-Editor. She is stepping up having supported the team with their social media for the last couple of years.

We are delighted to announce @mark-gilks.bsky.social as the recipient of the Journal of War and Culture Studies 2024 prize for the Best Paper by an Early Career Scholar.

'The Aesthetic Influences of War: A Phenomenology of Tim Hetherington’s “Feedback Loop”’, stood out in a strong field.
