That’s a great idea! Usually our nurse lets them vent, jokes around,and demystifies whatever process they’re worried about until the patient is feeling less upset/anxious. Our providers are also very good at getting our patients to relax.

Dead guys who were making like $500 a word back in the day, their estates are fine. Marginalized authors today, many are struggling. They're having a harder time selling new books to publishers, getting into bookstores, and are having school visits canceled. They need our support now more than ever.

I, on the other hand, am I big baby and will cry if I’m yelled at, so I let her handle our tougher patients. 😂 She’s very good at calming them down while standing her ground.

I love the nurse I work with! She’s so good with stressed patients. Literally nothing phases her. Patients will scream and swear and she doesn’t bat an eye. She just tells them “You can yell at me all you want, I don’t take anything personally. We’re here to help you and if that helps you do it.”

It’s Banned Books Week. Let’s check in?

First they banned books in schools to “protect the children.”

Then they banned books in govt libraries to “stop the spread of DEI.”

Then they made laws to keep LGBTQ+ and 🌶️ books out of bookstores because “it’s immoral.”
