In response to a ruling from a federal judge in Rhode Island, the Institute of Museum and Library Services reinstated all previously canceled grants in every state and territory. It's a huge win for libraries and our communities.

It’s amazing the number of people who think “it’s illegal” will stop a job from firing you. Unless you’re lucky enough to be able to afford an employment attorney, have the spoons to fight it, and can PROVE that’s why you were fired (which is incredibly difficult) you can’t do shit.

We had a trans patient who was very clearly getting discriminated against when we were trying to help get her in to detox. And my cisgender boss, bless her heart, was ~shocked~ that this patient was being discriminated against for being trans. She started asking me if this was common. 🙄

I would keep my job working at a health clinic but I’d probably switch to part-time for my mental health. With time off I’d be able to prioritize my health and go to doctor’s appointments.
