Question for #scifi and #fantasy readers—would using terms like “Democracy” in a world/universe where Earth doesn’t exist take you out of the immersion?

Or is it fine/better than making up a word and then having to explain why that means Democracy/something like it?

Yesterday I pulled overt references of queerness off my site, my very successful store that sells my books that have queer main characters. Because a few days ago, Meta emailed saying my advertising on their platform will be restricted - my site was categorized as "sexuality and gender identity."

Wheel of Time is my absolute favorite series. The last 3 books are essentially just a Sanderlanche for all the characters/the series, and then the final book just compounds on top of that.
