라우팅에 문제가 있다면 time_connect(그리고 ping)가 느렸을 거고, 통상적인 QoS라면 전송 시간(total-starttransfer)이 느렸을 것이다. 경험상 Speedtest by Ookla를 해보면 대역폭 자체는 잘 나오는데 측정을 하러 가기까지가 너무 느렸던 기억. 대략 왜 그랬는지 이제 기술적으로는 이해가 되는데, Cloudflare라서 이해가 안된다. 아무래도 망 사용료 때문이겠지 싶지만, 투명성과 신뢰성을 강조하는 본사의 기조에 비해 한국에서 장사를 이상하게 한다(?)는 얘기를 자주 들었던 바도 있고.

Cloudflare WARP를 늘 켜놓고 살았는데 도저히 너무 느려서 Surfshark를 사용하기 시작했다. 그런데 도대체 WARP는 왜 한국 서버(colo=ICN)라고 뜨는데도 한국 서버(특히 정부, 금융) 응답 속도가 느린 건지 이해가 안 돼서 이래저래 테스트를 해봤는데, 아무래도 ICN 내에서 이상한 제한이 있는 것 같다. TCP 연결이 열리는 시간(connect)은 빠른데 그 이후 TLS 연결이 열리는 시간(appconnect)과 데이터가 오기 시작하는 시간(starttransfer)이 20배 느리다!
