Two of my latest acquisitions, both some sort of experiment in futuristic medievalism:
Ergo Cosmos Volume 1 by Massimiliano Nigro
Queen Mab's Palace by Patrick Stuart.

I'm just saying it doesn't really look like tunnels and trolls anymore

probably this is the only way to revive this game and get it in front of new players. I just think it's funny. the danforth art was very sword and sorcery and pulpy (and very good).

Two photos for a contrast, Liz Danforth in old T&T and a screen grab from the new kickstarter. I don't hate the new look or anything, it's just the contrast is...bizarre

Coming soon: Tunnels & Trolls: A New Age A fantasy roleplaying game where ordinary characters become fated heroes, in a land shaped by mighty trolls.

Why does the new Tunnels & Trolls look like She-Ra the licensed rpg? www.kickstarter.com/projects/reb...

It doesn't have to be uninhabited, but it has to be a site for exploration.

What are the good ruined city published modules/campaigns for either fantasy or sci-fi. Here's what I've got so far: Dwellers in the Forbidden City, Pavis & Big Rubble, and the Ruins of Mythdrannor.

There can be real fun for players in Mos Eisley-style settings like this. I have played in games where players could bring anything and (most) people had a blast. It is also part of the charm of something like City State of the Invincible Overlord- a place where all the β€œmonsters” of the D&D live

Doing β€œPhokastor’s dance” is a common euphemism for falling to one’s death. Phokastor is revered by acrobats, tightrope walkers, and rock climbers. 5/5

Phokastor is often depicted as a graceful, falling dancer. It is through Phokastor’s loving grasp that a stone thrown in the air inexorably plummets to the ground. He is lord of the ecstatic plunge and the thrilling freedom of the fall. 4/5

...Fandilane is the one who moves the shifting fashions of Zyan, transforming through his superior taste styles which were gauche or insipid into daring and alluring ensembles. He is worshipped by seamsters and haberdashers, but also by dandies and those who host salons. 3/5

Fandilane, the fabulator, is often depicted in sculpture as a beautiful naked figure, who is literally clothed by his worshippers in the latest fashions, often at great expense... 2/5

I'm having a lot of fun writing up just a few of the minor aspects of each Archon, the alien deities of Zyan for a huge Patreon PDF that's about to drop with a sick amount of lore about Zyanese religion. Here are a couple. I have to break them up b/c they're too long for a single bleet. 🧡1/5

The great holiday of Vo, who sees beyond space and time, is the Parade of Temporal Maenads, the monstrous enlightened sages of the Guild of Horoscops, transformed by their terrible knowledge. Their cages are wheeled through the streets of Volish Hill to the thrill and terror of the faithful. 🧡5/x

The Birthday of the Mother celebrates the day Xulkatis, Progenitrice of All Life, Source of Self-Movement, gave birth to herself, emerging from her own inexhaustible womb. The day is celebrated by giving gifts to oneself, hence the Zyanese phrase "a Mother's gift" to mean treating oneself. 🧡4/X

Month of the Cartographer is a lay celebration for Thovis, Ultraduke of Distance and Measure, when the faithful produce frivolous maps of Zyan, charting the rooftop flightpaths of songbirds, the quantities of debt held in different blocks, or the location of ruined statues, and the like. 🧡3/x

Since I've been writing about Zyanese religion for my Patreon (a big PDF is about to drop) , the most fun part is coming up with 20 Zyanese holidays. Here's a thread I'll be adding to throughout the day with a small sampler of the holidays. 🧡1/x
