Though it wasn't easy, those first few--well, months, if Audax is being honest with himself. Oh, Crowley stopped being downright cold and dismissive to him fairly quickly, but it took much longer for Crowley to stop automatically referring to Audax by...the other name.

Aziraphale: *Blubbing* Okay

"And tea!"
"Of course tea. Can't have cake without tea."

Aziraphale nodding while still crying

"Opera and ballet are staples of the arts, Crowley!"
"I know, Angel, I know."

Crowley, patting Aziraphale's shoulder as he rants: I know, Angel, I know.

"That's one thing you never lost, Spider." Crowley says, coming up and gently embracing Audax from behind. "Whoever you were, you always had this insatiable desire to learn about the world around you." He rests his chin on Audax's shoulder. "It's why I love you."

"Could you perhaps close off a section of the living room?" Aziraphale offers. "It would allow you to do your stone and wax work, plus give me a chance to watch you." Crowley looks thoughtful.
"Maybe? Be even better if you had another room, though. One with a big window."

"Wouldn't be the first cold night I'd slept on the street, but thank you all the same." Aziraphale says as they head out of the cafe and back towards the hotel. "Perhaps that's something you could raise awareness of- how poorly managed many shelters are."

Drop something red

"Trees do tend to stay rather still, yes." Audax says with a laugh. "And your grandmothers were very wise, little spider." He lets out a strand of web from his hand, and Charlie climbs on. "Like you are."

"And a good dusting." Aziraphale says, looking around. "I could call someone, have them in by..."
"No." Crowley says decidedly. "I'll do it. It'll be relaxing for me, to get it into decent shape. Then maybe we can go desk shopping."

"Sounds wonderful." Aziraphale says, standing up. "Oh, and...thank you. Not only for the coffee, but for trusting me."
"Yeah, of course." Crowley says with a smile.

Crazy stories both

"Oh, you're having the fish? Did you ever hear about the time a whale beached itself in California and they had the bright idea to blow it up to get rid of the corpse? Yeah, it...really didn't go as planned. Oh, and then there was the time in Florida where a python tried to eat a gator and exploded.

Crowley chuckles. "Little miss, when you have lived longer than some of the stars have been in the sky, then you can talk about being old. But you are much bigger." Charlie does her little tap-wiggle.
'Snake old old. Spider old old too.' Audax pretends to look affronted.

THE GREATER GOOD

"Now come on, Charlie." Audax says gently to the spokespider. "You know Snake was sad because the angel I used to be didn't remember him and I was still trying to be me and not him." Charlie climbs up to Audax.
'Spider know. Sorry to Snake.'
Crowley blinks. "Charlie?"

You would think my name would be easy to spell. But I have had both ROAN and somehow RONE. The first is somewhat understandable, as that's a real word(it's both a horse and a color) but I'm not even sure what the second is supposed to be.
