Hoppers review: Pixarβs return to form
An animal lover uses hopping technology to transport her mind into a robotic beaver.
Pixar's latest animation Hoppers is inventive, heartfelt and laugh-out-loud funny. I loved the message about protecting animals and their habitats. An entertaining film for all the family. In cinemas Friday.

In the Blink of an Eye review: Moving message, shaky execution
Andrew Stanton's film tells three stories, one set in the past, present and future.
In the Blink of an Eye wants to tell a profound, existential story about the ups and downs of the human experience. I can see the vision but the result is a messy and often dull slog. Yet despite that, I still found myself moved towards the end!

SirΓ’t review: Mad Max with rave vibes
SirΓ’t follows a father on a treacherous journey through the desert to find his missing daughter.
The Oscar-nominated SirΓ’t is more of an experience than a traditional film, with trance music soundtracking a treacherous journey through the desert. I appreciated the vision and the shocking moments, but I needed more story and character depth.

The Testament of Ann Lee review: Amanda Seyfried should be Oscar-nominated
This musical tells the story of religious leader Ann Lee, the founder of the Shaker movement in America.
Amanda Seyfried should have been nominated for her fearless performance in The Testament of Ann Lee. The film itself is weird, ambitious and certainly won't be for everyone but I really liked it (until a certain point). In cinemas tomorrow.

The Moment review: This Charli XCX fan had a blast
Charli XCX plays a fictionalised version of herself in this concert mockumentary.
Charli XCX's mockumentary The Moment will not be for everyone, but I'm very much its target audience. I had a blast with this. It has a superb sense of humour, lots of interesting things to say, and Charli has no problem poking fun at herself.

Cold Storage review: Horror comedy in need of more laughs
A deadly parasitic fungus breaks free from its vault in this horror comedy.
Cold Storage is a fun horror comedy that needed some more laughs. Joe Keery, Georgina Campbell and Liam Neeson are entertaining and the infection scenes are suitably gross, but it's not quite good enough. In cinemas now.

Wasteman review: A gripping and gritty prison drama
Taylor's promise of early release is compromised when his new cellmate sets up a drug enterprise.
Wasteman is a gritty, gripping and violent prison drama starring the excellent David Jonsson and Tom Blyth. What an intense final act! What a debut from Cal McMau! In cinemas Friday.

If I Had Legs Iβd Kick You review: Prepare to be very stressed
Everything goes wrong at the same time and Linda's mental health starts to spiral.
Rose Byrne gives her career-best performance as a mother unable to cope with her life's challenges in If I Had Legs I'd Kick You. The Oscar nomination is well and truly deserved! In cinemas Friday.

The Secret Agent: LFF Film Review
A university professor on the run seeks refuge with political refugees in Recife.
The Secret Agent has the unfortunate distinction of being my least favourite Best Picture Oscar nominee this year. It's not bad, it's just not for me. It's too long, it doesn't focus on the main narrative and the title is misleading. In cinemas Friday.

Whistle review: Cliched horror saved by inventive deaths
High school students discover an Aztec death whistle which can summon their future deaths.
Whistle is a cursed object horror starring Dafne Keen and Sophie Nelisse. There are some brilliantly inventive and gory death sequences, but the rest of the film lacks originality and ticks off many horror tropes. In cinemas now.

Eternity review: Elizabeth Olsen is sensational in throwback comedy
Joan must decide who she wants to spend eternity with - her first husband or her second.
Eternity, a quirky rom-com starring Elizabeth Olsen, is also hitting streaming this weekend. I really loved the premise, and Olsen is sensational, but it runs out of steam towards the end. On Apple TV now.

A Yautja outcast teams up with a damaged synth to navigate the dangerous planet Genna.

βWuthering Heightsβ review: Stylish, provocative and not that sexy
Cathy and Heathcliff's love and desire for each other are tested when she marries Mr. Linton.
I liked Emerald Fennell's take on Wuthering Heights more than the majority. It's not perfect, it's not a faithful adaptation of the book and the emotional depth is inconsistent, but it is visually astounding and I was moved by it. In cinemas Friday.

Crime 101 review: A gripping, old-school crime thriller
This film depicts a cat-and-mouse chase between a jewellery thief and a detective.
I was a big fan of Crime 101, a slow-burning thriller starring Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Halle Berry. This old-school crime story takes its time bringing all the puzzle pieces together, but the payoff is worth it. In cinemas Friday.

Little AmΓ©lie review: A short and sweet animation
Little AmΓ©lie follows a two-year-old Belgian girl growing up in post-war Japan.
Little AmΓ©lie is a sweet film with a lovely sense of wonder and imagination. This Oscar-nominated French animation is simple but quite unusual, and it deals with weightier themes than you might expect from a childrenβs film. In cinemas Friday.

A goat dreams of joining his beloved roarball team, the Thorns, and becoming the GOAT.
Goat is an enjoyable family film with plenty of jokes, vibrant visuals, sports action sequences and an excellent voice cast. Sure, it's predictable, but it's fun and sends a great message about teamwork and dreaming big. In cinemas Friday.

Set in a fairy tale kingdom, a married couple are given 101 days to conceive a child.

Ella McCay review: Unfocused drama with too many characters
Emma Mackey is Ella McCay, a 34-year-old who becomes the governor of her state.

The Chronology of Water review: A difficult, fragmented watch
Kristen Stewart's feature debut stars Imogen Poots as swimmer-turned-writer Lidia Yuknavitch.

Send Help review: Rachel McAdams vs Dylan OβBrien in fun survival thriller

We Bury the Dead review: Daisy Ridley excels in unexpected zombie movie
Daisy Ridley's Ava volunteers with a body retrieval team after a disaster in the hope of finding her husband.
Daisy Ridley's new movie, We Bury the Dead, is partly a zombie horror and partly a drama about a grieving woman. Ridley is superb, and the opening and closing acts are gripping, but the story dips in the middle. Available on Digital HD today.

A former assassin is forced to come out of hiding to rescue a young girl from the sea.
