Farage had given the impression that he expected to see Trump, telling an event hosted in opposition to UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's proposed Chagos Islands agreement with Mauritius that the president "has almost understood the deal... but I'll be dining at Mar-a-Lago tomorrow night and I will reinforce the message". But, rather than receiving a formal invite to meet Trump, Farage was in fact invited to Mar-a-Lago by a member of the club, according to multiple people briefed on the matter.

There’s one quote on rising bills in his words trailed overnight that warrants chasing up: “I will always be guided by what is best for the British public. I mean, this just isn't true, is it? If Starmer was focused on the cost of living crisis he wouldn't insist on no customs union and no single market? Nor would he embrace the negative economic consequences of his anti-migrant policy?

Like everything else about Starmer, this is empty rhetoric.

I've seen this type of behaviour from Tice & co being attributed to stupidity, but it's not - it's corruption, plain & simple.

Tice & co are in league with oil companies & large US corporations - they would be doing as instructed which would also align with their own (personal) interests.

Even in 2019, Corbyn's Labour still got more votes than Starmer's in 2024. Starmer's majority was a FPTP quirk caused mainly by a complete Tory collapse & nothing to do with anything he (or 'sensible centrists') actually offered or did.
