For me grimdark has probably had the most profound effect on me. Something about the gritty mess of those worlds keeps me locked in and almost fueling an internal fire in me.

I (WooZ) read SO MUCH when I was young so lots of young adult novels could be added to this list in varying factors, but these are the ones that stand out in my adult life. I'll have to do another post for the movies and video games that also helped expand my building of Ae'oene.

These books really left a lasting effect on me so much it carried over to worldbuilding.

I forgot to add that I slept some on my way to Europe but plane rides really are a great time to get my D&D fix.
It is especially perfect time to session prep and worldbuild. Some of my best ideas come while watching Critical Role and prepping at the same time!
