The Banagher Cross shaft. Carefully carved sandstone pillar decorated as described in the caption
Two bearded figures entangled in interlace ornament
A deer with its leg caught in a trap
A figure on horseback carrying a crozier
High Cross Shaft • Banagher • Offaly
The carved depictions are superb, they show:
• four human figures who are tangled with legs and interlaced hair.
• a stag with its leg caught in a trap.
• a man on horseback carrying a crozier
• and a lion or similarly fierce beast with a protruding tongue.

A 'travel stone' type of runestone! Elite Vikings liked to show off (a) that they were well travelled, and (b) that they were both literate and able to afford a rune-carver.

A stone medieval effigy of a woman in a tall headdress
The tomb effigy of Honoria Grace (d.1596) in St. Canice's Cathedral, Kilkenny.
Honoria's elaborate headdress, the rings on her fingers, and the voluminous sleeves all show that she was a wealthy woman and a bit of a fashionista.
Or maybe a batman fan.
