Not so much. I think I’m quite critical. I have a couple I’ve shared with friends and family and they quite like them. For me it’s a bit like going to therapy and just getting it out so I’m not stuck perseverating on it

Mostly poetry. Sometimes it comes out similar to journaling or I write out quotes that felt meaningful to me and write my thoughts and feelings around them.

Not really. It’s mostly been focused on getting out the thoughts that feel overwhelming and emotionally taxing so they have somewhere else to go

I started writing again. It’s infrequent and I find I was less self conscious about writing when I was younger. It feels vulnerable to share my thoughts in such a way and so easy to compare against others and criticise myself. Considering sharing here or maybe I’ll start a Substack. We’ll see.

Thank you 🥰 the flower one especially went awry. The background exists cuz I tried to make the flowers and butterfly and it just kept getting worse so I covered it in water until it was a background 😂

I don’t like the way social media makes it look like everything is going well all the time. So here are some of my paintings that did not turn out so well.

Thank you. That said these are not my bad ones. Also I’m a perfectionist and these are definitely not perfect. But the point of learning to do this was to irritate the perfectionist that lives in my brain 😂

This is my most recent painting. I’m trying to understand better how the colours blend and how the paint moves and am finding landscape pictures work well for that.

My last ups delivery came with an email saying they had delivered it to my postbox with no photo. Took me three days and many emails to find out they had actually delivered it to the local shop for me to collect it.

Made my first two paintings. (They’re bookmarks) Mixed feeling. 😂 Lessons learned: gonna need to use a heat gun or hairdryer cuz patience is not my thing and don’t over do it. The mountain one had only a few plants at the front and it looked good but I overthought it and added more and like it less.

Blurry and crooked

I’ve decided to learn watercolour which is a big deal for me cuz it’s not a skill I excel at and I really struggle allowing myself to be bad at something long enough to learn to be better. Prepare for future pictures of terrible paintings 😂
