I think on some level it demonstrated that everyone is equal in the eyes of nature and there is a reactionary movement on the right and left to somehow disprove that, to go back to the before times when the superiority of whiteness and wealth were slightly less questioned

I did an interview with @discourseblog.com in 2022 where I thought what happened might be a turning point for care of the medically vulnerable in this country and it turns out actually no, that’s not happening and also we’re all supposed to pretend the mass death wasn’t a big deal.

I am never going to get over the fact thar so many Americans died that corpses stacked up in nursing homes and hospital morgues, that refrigerator trucks had to be brought in for the overflow, and that the big takeaway from Important Pundits is there should have been *less* mitigation.
