74/422 Taplow: Elizabeth Line. The Olive Tree is half a mile walk from the station and it is gloriously dreadful. Everyone in there looks at me funny so I go and sit on my own in the weird Manchester United shrine section. half cider = £2.00 Rating 1/5

73/422 Maidenhead: Elizabeth Line. Annoyingly Oyster card doesn’t work past West Drayton so I’m paying extra for these. Also, I should note that there are plenty of trains to catch but I’m playing by the rules and only using The Elizabeth Line. ONeills is bang average. Half cider = £2.25 Rating 2/5

72/422 Twyford: Elizabeth Line. The good thing about these commuter lines is that there are always pubs close by and The Golden Cross is right by the station. It’s also surprisingly decent, and I enjoy a quick half in the sunshine. Half cider = £2.30 Rating 3/5

71/422 Reading: Elizabeth Line. If I had done this a couple of years ago I wouldnt have had to trek all the way to fucking Reading, but I didn’t. So I do. The Three Guineas is based at the station and is a typical station pub. Good for a post work pint and nothing else. Half cider = £3.25 Rating 2/5

70/422 Tufnell Park: Northern Line. Good thing about zone 1 is when you have a night out you can knock a couple off! Meeting up in Tufnell Park and Aces and Eights, keen to be North London cool and just about succeeding, despite barman mishearing and pouring a pint. Pint of cider = £6.50 Rating 3/5

69/422 Croxley: Metropolitan Line. This is what I expected Rickmansworth to be. Out the station and just in front of you is The Red House. The staff are instantly welcoming, there’s a nice area outside and I help myself to some fish and chips which are fine. Half cider £2.70 Rating 3/5

68/422 Watford: Metropolitan Line. Watford drops you off in the middle of nowhere so it’s a 15 min walk to the town centre where there are awful pubs aplenty. I opt for the Slug & Lettuce - there used to be millions of them - which is as bang average as I expected. Half cider = £2.45 Rating 2/5

67/422 Rickmansworth: Metropolitan Line. Rickmansworth is quite fancy as well so Christ knows why there’s an awful Wetherspoons on the main high street. It’s called The Pennsylvanian. Even for a spoons it’s pretty rotten. There’s better pubs but nearest is the rules! Half cider = £1.75 Rating 1/5

66/422 Chorleywood: Metropolitan Line. Back to la di dah Hertfordshire. The Rose & Crown is the closest pub but it doesn’t open until 4pm!!! People here obviously work! Instead I find fancy gastropub The Gate which is a good proper country pub. Half cider = £2.65 Rating 4/5

65/422 West Brompton: District/Mildmay Line. This is more like it, cross over the road and there’s The Prince. It’s massive with three big bars, a floral beer garden, seating out the front and a huge choice in food. Shame there’s only about 2 people here when I pop in! Half cider = £3:45 Rating 4/5

64/422 Fulham Broadway: District Line. Funny how you perceive things isn’t it? I always thought that Fulham was really posh but if the Broadway bar is anything to go by, it’s not at all. The pub looks quite nice outside but step in and it’s not really worth the effort. Half cider = £3:20 rating 2/5

63/422 Parson’s Green: District Line The original Sloaney Pony pub is a couple of hundred yards from the station. It’s really popular and you can understand why. It’s got a huge selection of beers and you can watch the world go by whilst you sit out in the sun. Half cider = £3:10 Rating 4/5

62/422 Putney Bridge: District Line. The Eight Bells is tatty and old fashioned but has its own Wikipedia page! Big fact, a serial killer murdered someone round the corner but no one heard cos the locals were having a disco to celebrate Prince ‘paedo’ Andrew’s wedding! Half cider = £3.20 Rating 2/5

Mate, the day before I had had the most dreadful day in Newbury Park. It was horrific. Amersham was absolutely delightful by comparison!!!

61/422 East Putney: District Line. Everywhere else has a Tesco Express but Putney is posh so it has a Waitrose express. Fancy twats. Their pubs are fancy too and the East Putney Tavern is well worth a pint of your time. Seconds from the station too! Well done Putney! Half cider = £3.45 Rating 3/5

60/422 Southfields: District Line. Greene King always do a pretty good job and The Old Fields is no exception. Just round the corner from the station it’s clean, bright and open and harmless enough but it’s not got a lot of character. Maybe it’s better when it’s full. Half cider = £3.00 Rating 2/5

59/422 Wimbledon Park: District Line. Hop, skip and a jump to The Woodman pub which is perfectly pleasant but immediately loses a point cos apparently it’s Teresa May’s favourite pub. Although it’s hard to imagine her getting smashed up here on a Friday night. Half cider = £3.00 Rating 2/5

58/422 Wimbledon: District Line. Loads of good pubs to choose from in this simply splendid area of West London. I go with the Hand & Racquet a couple of mins walk from the station. It’s great. If you did a pub crawl of all the good pubs round here you’d have a good day. Half cider = £2.80 Rating 3/5

57/422 West Finchley: Northern Line Finchley has a lot going for it, buzzy vibe, decent shops, you can see why people choose to live here. Shame the nearest pub is Annie’s. It’s heaving and everyone knows everyone else. Like a North London Cheers, but it’s a bit tatty. Half cider = £2.20 Rating 1/5

56/422 Woodside Park: Northern Line. Again one of those stations on the map that no one has heard of unless you live here. About a six minute walk from the station is the Tally Ho which is an excellent name for a pub. Typical Wetherspoons in that it’s busy all day long. Half cider = £2.20 Rating 2/5
