Yep! I actually had a case where I do large scale performances in VRChat which require huge effects but needed to practice before I had them done so I literally just stuck in a box with "insert effects here" written on it. Can be funny when someone stumbles on placeholders like that too.

The idea of using AI for placeholders is wild to me. Any time I've needed a placeholder it's been just a default cube or a picture with just text along the lines of "insert pretty visuals here"
A placeholder doesn't need to look good, just, and stay with my here.. Hold a place

Finally all of that out of the way so everything should be fine now right? NOPE, informed I have to wait 8 hours in a room that is a seizure risk to see someone about my seizures.

Had another seizure in the waiting room, nurses come in and while I'm still coming to insist I stand up so they can lead me to get bloods. I insist I can't stand, they insist I must, so I go malicious compliance and faceplant the hard hospital floor. 4/

Get to the hospital and be put in the brightest and most visually and audibly stimulating room I can imagine short of a full on strobe light. (I'm sure the extra stress will be great!). 3/

I had several seizures but because of my mutism I had to spend nearly an hour figuring out how to even contact the health service. Finally got through to them - nearest ambulance 3 hours away so decided to make my own way to hospital (right after a seizure mind you) 2/

Starting to think twitch is purposefully trying to push their streamers away at this point. As if only having half my viewers count as viewers wasn't enough of a problem..

You can make an event that would be SUPER dangerous irl be completely safe in VR and yet people still insist on clinging to the mindset that disabled people should just sit down and shut up and sit in our homes where people can pretend we don't exist until we die having never been allowed to live

I still don't get why people insist on not making VR accessible, the "if you can't handle flashing lights then don't come" argument works irl because you can't just turn off the flashing lights without screwing over everybody else... but VR is literally somewhere you CAN do that

For those who want to see what VRChat can truly offer in live performances I highly recommend checking this out over the weekend. An amazing show with incredibly talented performers creatring one of the best spectacles you can see in VR.

Pretty sure my MP's going to be getting sick of me at this point with how much I've been emailing them, unfortunately not much more I can do cos disabled but at least it's one more email on top of what they already get. (:

Really makes me wonder why I should bother caring about any issues beyond my own when the people who are supposed to be on my side clearly see my disabilities as a moral failing.

As someone who does struggle with keeping my place tidy (yay multiple overlapping severe disabilities and not being able to have support) this shit just gives the impression that people like me will be abandoned once their issues are one day solved. The old pulling the ladder up behind you thing.

The reason Nurse Joy is sexualized is because the deep and primal allure of a Universal Healthcare system.

As a partially mute streamer I can confirm there is definitely an audience for no-mic streams. If you're interacting with chat in some way like by talking in chat yourself that's often enough. But it really can depend on what kind of content you do and find having a disclaimer about no mic helps.

Every time I see so called disability allies promoting ableist attitudes I just lose any faith in other people. We're always an afterthought, even to our "allies" and the amount of times said "allies" get annoyed when their ableism is pointed out is far too high.
