The NIH said Friday night that it would slash support for indirect costs on all existing and future grants to 15%
βUnderstanding the contributions of janitors, dining hall workers, & administrative assistants means understanding that management styles that cut costs by cutting salaries through outsourcing or cutting positions are actually damaging science.β

The βcrab eyesβ reminds me how both fortuitous and precarious life can be. Formed >300 million years ago as core stones (unaltered rock left as chemical weathering progressed inwards as soil formed), recent erosion & gravity stacked these boulders through long-game geologic jenga.
