Some last bit of advice from Isabelle and Robert for ePortfolios: remember to keep it professional, especially if it's a public ePortfolio #CDGEportfolios @laicdgroup.bsky.social
14.10.2025 18:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Exercise for attendees: take the next 20 minutes to set up or edit your ePortfolio.
Really appreciate Isabelle and Robert giving us all time to put it into practice but also means I have no excuses now for not having an ePortfolio π #CDGEportfolios @laicdgroup.bsky.social
14.10.2025 18:30 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Learning from the platform itself - if you use a platform for your ePortfolio, you're going to learn new skills from using it. These are great skills themselves. If you use a platform like Wordpress, you will learn web design skills you might not have otherwise had the opportunity to.
Creating an ePortfolio is also a great way to develop your own digital literacy skills. Win/win! #CDGEportfolios @laicdgroup.bsky.social
14.10.2025 18:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Making your ePortfolio publicly available: web platforms can allow your ePortfolio to be publicly available. Many platforms can be set to hidden so they can't be found via Google. Public ePortfolios can help develop your own personal brand.
For those wondering if an ePortfolio should be public or private, some points to consider #CDGEportfolios @laicdgroup.bsky.social

14.10.2025 18:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Reflecting on CPD: guiding questions include did I know this already? Is this something I can take forward into my role? Is this something I want to learn more about? Does it relate to a paper or article I have read, a conference or seminar I have attended, something a colleague has told me, an experience I have had
Some good guiding questions from Robert to help you reflect on CPD and content to possibly include in your ePortfolio. Really helpful especially for those who struggle with reflecting! #CDGEportfolios @laicdgroup.bsky.social
14.10.2025 18:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And of course, there's a (Lib)Guide for it - a brilliant resource from @etbireland.bsky.social Library on ePortfolios: library.etbi.ie/staff/eportf... #CDGEportfolios @laicdgroup.bsky.social
14.10.2025 18:07 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Robert Alfis showing off his ePortfolio in Wordpress and how he uses tags to categorize CPD. For example: if he needs to find info on digital capacity in teaching & learning activities, it's all easily available - really easy way to keep track of CPD! #CDGEportfolios @laicdgroup.bsky.social
14.10.2025 18:03 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Disclaimer: my own personal view! If you are going to start an ePortfolio, please don't use Wix as it's on the Palestine BDS list #CDGEportfolios @laicdgroup.bsky.social
14.10.2025 17:53 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0CPD is important for librarians because it ensures librarians remain current, skilled, and adaptable in a rapidly changing information environment, enhancing service quality and professional growth.
CPD is really important for library staff and an ePortfolio can help keep track of CPD you're doing or showcase any professional activities you're involved in #CDGEportfolios @laicdgroup.bsky.social
14.10.2025 17:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0LinkedIn is a social media platform with a standardised template where you can connect with professionals or recruiters. Eportfolios are personal websites that can have a bespoke design and can be private or public or you can choose who and what you share.

20.05.2025 18:39 β π 3 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Question from the audience on if there is funding for smaller scale projects. If you're in a university, SATLE funding from the National Forum could be a good option, here's a list of institutional leads: www.teachingandlearning.ie/funding/satl... #CDGASLWriting2025
20.05.2025 18:34 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Titles Matter - is your title good for more than just the proposal? Does it fit websites, posters, and so on? Marta shares tips. #CDGASLWriting2025
20.05.2025 18:22 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0The project plan: an account of all the activities you intend to carry out as part of the project and the time it will take to complete them.
Often funding calls will require you identify specific work packages for your project such as: creation and delivery of specific project outputs, project evaluation, dissemination, and project management and reporting
Useful slides from Marta on the project plan - good to have these down and they will also be helpful for when you're successful and now have to actually deliver the project! #CDGASLWriting2025
20.05.2025 18:21 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Align projects with funder's themes. You can also contact the funders to find out if your project fits.
Great advice from Marta: have a clear idea of a project in mind and then look for funding so that calls are in alignment with your project rather than trying to fit a project into a funder's theme #CDGASLWriting2025
20.05.2025 18:16 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A few things to think about for grant applications: have an executive summary to describe the project in a short paragraph, who will be on your team, who is the funder, what documentation do you need to gather, what permissions or signatures for approval do you need, and what are the key deadlines
Read all the instructions slide - be sure to read all of the instructions again and again for the grant application.
Excellent slides from Marta on things to think about when pulling together a grant application and a reminder to read all the instructions! #CDGASLWriting2025
