Have spent the week reading a story about poutine to students.
I desperately need to order poutine tomorrow.

I’d be curious to know that too.
I’ve never heard of an electronic one existing.
How do they get parent signatures to file in the OSR?

I’m afraid I don’t have the firm numbers to share—our board is small and I was invited to participate in the pitch and discussion process while the decision was being taken but was not made privy to specific $$ info.

My board has been using Insignia since November 2019. We switched from PowerSchool (L4U) at the time.
It has tremendous capacity that we have not yet maximized.
Transition was pretty seamless.
Can’t speak re: Follet.
Happy to answer further questions if needed.
Deeply curious about the new Wuthering Heights adaptation because over the course of many years and many tries, friendly AND scholarly discussions:

I know this. And yet…
Sunshine has confused me into Spring Cleaning mode.
I know it is not yet Spring, and yet: curtains down and laundered, bathroom scrubbed, dusting achieved, cupboards reorganized.
And it’s just past noon!
The book budget for libraries (assuming a school is lucky enough to have one at all) hasn’t risen from $5 per student since I started many (many) years ago.
Scholastic book fair profits don’t go as far either. It’s just a sad state of affairs all round— the students need and deserve more.
Where the school gets the money from can ABSOLUTELY affect who gets booked: if you don’t have an independent budget for this stuff & have to apply to Writers Union or Parent Councils for support THAT can open up objections/limitations that otherwise wouldn’t be there.

Seems promising?
(Do not, under any circumstances—Anyone—offer a reason why it might not be.)
Watching the Mr. Dressup doc on CBCGem before it disappears and this was an A+++ choice in my part

Of course, that said, I will post how I did for 2025…since I did it and all.

For the first time in (I would guess) a decade, I am not going to set a reading goal for 2026.
I’m tired of quantifying. I’m tired of trying to meet and surpass arbitrary expectations. I will continue to log what I read, but I will—perhaps—read more organically for myself.

Every once in a very blue moon the fact that 🇨🇦 media is not always simulcast comes in very handy.
Very handy indeed.
Nicely done GlobalTV
At 1 hour 30 mins in (plus a handful of pauses to do other stuff) and I’m committed to seeing how it ends.
