Go to the three main credit agencies Equifax, Experian and Transunion. On their websites search ‘freeze my credit’. They each have a page that explains it and walks you through the process. It’s easy. You can unfreeze it anytime you need to apply for a loan.

Freezing your credit means no one can have access to credit files. It’s like you are putting your credit history in a locked vault. No one can see it unless you unfreeze it (open the vault).
