And by the way, I’m running against my 86-year-old Congressman, Steny Hoyer, in the Democratic primary. He’s been a supporter of Ukraine, and I agree with him there. But our older Democratic leaders still won’t talk about impeachment or the constitutional emergency we’re living through.

Congress could stop all of this tomorrow. They could pass crushing sanctions on Russia. And yes, they could impeach a president who is using the office to enrich himself while betraying our allies.

Witkoff himself accidentally posted that the plan was leaked from “K,” referring to Kirill Dmitriev, the guy who runs Putin’s sovereign wealth fund.

So, Russia is literally writing American foreign policy so Trump/Witkoff can build a new hotel in Moscow. That’s not diplomacy, that’s high treason!

He sent his real estate buddy Steve Witkoff to Moscow, who isn't a professional diplomat and naturally got steamrolled. Then, the Trump administration tried passing off a so-called “peace plan” that was written by the Russians and full of weird phrasing translated from Russian into English.

Ukraine is an emerging democracy that once looked to the United States as a model. They’re fighting for the same basic idea the US was founded on: that people get to choose their own future.

But right now, Trump is trying to sell them out. And for what other reason? Money, of course!

Supporting Ukraine is one of the few bipartisan things left in American politics. I’ve been deeply involved in aid efforts since the full-scale invasion in 2022. I’ve helped gather donated supplies/vehicles from US fire/EMS departments, and I’ve been over there myself.

"Color revolution" is a Russian term used to refer to the Rose Revolution (Gerogia, 2003), Orange Revolution (Ukraine, 2004), and others in post-USSR states. Kari Lake also used it today. This entire administration is full of traitors in the thrall of Moscow, up to and including Trump himself.

We literally prosecuted several high-ranking Nazis at Nuremberg for doing this?

We need a new generation in Congress that understands how the internet actually works so we can protect democracy and maybe – just maybe – we can make next year’s Thanksgiving a little less awkward.

That’s why having such elderly members of Congress matters. My 86-year-old congressman, Steny Hoyer, and a lot of his generation are way out of their depth when it comes to regulating AI or new technologies because they simply don’t understand the product.

Meanwhile, our regulatory system is stuck in the 20th century. Agencies like the FCC still think in terms of TV and radio ads, while propaganda is being delivered directly into every middle-schooler’s phone. The battlefield moved, but our regulatory agencies didn’t keep up.

And it’s not just scammers: foreign state actors like Russia, China, and others deliberately push divisive content to inflame Americans and destabilize our politics. Enemy nations used to need bombers, but these days, even state security agencies can work from home.

It’s not new. In 2016, Macedonian teenagers ran fake news pages for ad money and quickly learned that outrage bait aimed at American conservatives spread the fastest. And now, AI makes it easy to pump out “breaking news” videos that look real enough to fool anyone who’s already primed to be furious.

You can now see where accounts on The Other Hellsite are actually based. And surprise, a bunch of the loudest “MAGApatriot1776” types are actually in Bangladesh, Nigeria, and other countries, farming engagement and grifting off your relatives’ anger!

This one’s for everyone about to walk into an awkward Thanksgiving with Republican parents, a crazy MAGA uncle, or boomer relatives whose brains have been slow-cooked by right-wing propaganda.

I'm just completely shocked that a movement predicted on centering white Americans as the victims of economic exploitation by a cabal of elite bankers has suddenly and unexpectedly descended into antisemitism.

Not really, but he's on a very fat Saudi contract, so they take him around like an exotic pet and he can't really decline the invitation.

Without reading the paper, how much of this can be explained by 1) January 1 falling in the winter in the northern hemisphere and 2) summertime seasonal businesses with high turnover?

Very similar dynamic with the senior crew of Dem leadership in the US, who learned politics in the Clinton years and have been trying to appeal to non-existent moderate Republicans without success throughout the entire decade of Donald Trump. (This includes my 86-year-old rep/opponent, Steny Hoyer.)

If the President can impose his own taxes and use the proceeds to spend on his own projects, all without Congress, we have a dictatorship not a constitutional republic.

He's so abusive to women as a matter of course that this will barely get reported.

In fairness to Bill Clinton, he's the only Rhodes Scholar of this group...
