I realize that it’s hard to keep track of all the impeachable offenses that the Trump administration commits on a daily basis, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for allowing them to continue. In Congress, I’ll fight to impeach, convict, and remove the President and his out of control administration.

Holding my son makes everything feel so much more immediate and personal. I’m running for office in the first place because I want him (and every kid) to grow up in a country (and a world) that is free, democratic, stable, and secure. That’s the world I’ll be fighting for.

Sorry I’ve been a little quiet on here. Our son Toby arrived earlier than expected! He’s unbelievably tiny, but doing well so far. He’ll be in the NICU for a few weeks, not much to do except watch him breathe. But I have a feeling I’ll be doing that the rest of my life! Peak millennial parenting.

To be clear, the GOP majority abdicating its congressional responsibilities and ceding its power to the executive is a choice.

Republicans could call votes and end this today if they wanted to. They choose not to.

They went to war with Iran (which nobody in America was asking for) so they could conjure an excuse to allow ICE to keep murdering Americans and teargassing schools here at home with impunity (which nobody in America was asking for).

The War Powers Resolution needs a complete overhaul because it's obviously failed, but at the end of the day, there's no procedural trick around having a Congress that's willing to stand back and watch a president flagrantly break the law and the Constitution and do absolutely nothing about it.

Our country is being run by a bunch of incompetent morons with the world's largest military budget, what could possibly go wrong?

Do we have a Constitution anymore, or is it just optional? Because if it’s the second thing it opens up a lot of options about what to do with these guys

the fact the president of the united states is even thinking about asserting emergency powers to disrupt an election - just a few years after he incited an armed coup attempt - should be the top issue. but the media mostly shrugs and the opposition doesnt focus on it.

The underlying problem is that stopping the lawless authoritarianism is ultimately not a legal problem, & there are no actual legal solutions to it. It is a political problem, & the only solution is a political one requiring a majority of votes in the House & 67 votes in the Senate.

If we’re fortunate enough to have one final chance to vote in a legitimate election in Nov., we cannot elect Congressmen and Senators from the Merrick Garland School of Cowardice and Silent Sedition.
