I don't know what it is about early polygonal graphics or even "superscaler" sprite based engines of the era, but I still adore them. Arcade racers like Rad Mobile, GP Rider, Out Run, OutRunners, even the certifiably insane Power Drift, all very nostalgic for me. So much programming creativity.

Or rather...4D Sports Driving, not Racing.

4D Sports Racing is Stunts, I think the name is different depending on US/Euro.

Me TOO. Is this Stunts/4D Sports Driving? Great game—it's like everything you wanted Hard Drivin' to be and then more.

There's a few other really good early polygon racers for DOS. Car & Driver, Vroom, and Grand Prix: World Circuit are all pretty fun. Car & Driver feels a lot like Stunts.

Just want to give a shout-out to indie dev #Archison. His newest #Android game RAR Islands just came out. It's only $2.99, and is a full-featured single player survival crafting roguelike with no micro-transactions or ads. His games have a lot of heart and soul. I'm a huge fan. #rarislands

Metal Max 2 Reloaded is a remake of the Super Famicom classic for the #NintendoDS. Each of these games, even the original for the Famicom/NES, are unique, open world jRPGs, more in common with Fallout than Final Fantasy. There's no one way to play any of these—you forge your own path. #retrogaming

The #Konami Japanese-exclusive #PSP collections of both the #Twinbee series as well as the #Parodius series are such #shmup heaven to this day. Must have for any PSP collection. The enhanced versions of these classic Twinbee games, in particular, are positively euphoric.

Yeah, I feel like they probably would have included the GBA content but were rushed to put it all out. They probably got disillusioned when their original mobile remaster was so poorly received. I bet there was a significant budget difference between the old mobile port and the new remaster.

I actually like some of it. I love how the spell and ability effects look, and I like that they mostly preserved the OG pixel art this time.

They messed with some of the mechanics, though, and the game just feels different. The whole presentation feels a bit cheap. The fonts are terrible.

Love the pixel art design for Leviathan in Final Fantasy VI Advance. It sucks that they didn't include any of the #gba exclusive content for the #PixelRemaster. Not that it was really anything massive—it was still fun to have that end-game bonus content. #FinalFantasy #FF6

This is what I use, a GameSir controller, relatively inexpensive. I gave up having to deal with onscreen touch controls—this is the best option, if you ever wanted to dip your toes into phone gaming. It fits snug around the phone.

I've been trying really hard to get MSX and MSX2 games running in RetroArch on my Android phone, specifically the Xak series. For some reason, I can't find a comfortable control scheme, and sometimes the games don't run well at all. Might switch to my laptop and use a standalone emulator.

Dark Edge (1993) is one of the most visually striking fighting games of the golden era, a visual style marked by rotating, scaling sprites. Is it good? Serviceable, but no Tekken or Virtua Fighter. Still, it looks fantastic—great color and character design. #arcade #sega #superscaler #retrogaming

I know I'm a crabby old pessimistic socialist, but allow me just this one beacon of hope for #democracy in #Mamdani, whom I strongly feel is this generation's Martin Luther King in the making. Watching him kill it on Fox News of all places made me feel optimistic for the first time in a decade.

We could solve #homelessness this year if we took the profit motive out of housing. If we #decommodify #housing, we get people housed. That's how it works.

Playing the #Persona series for the very first time, starting with Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (or Revelations: Persona, which was the title of the game on the PS1) for the PSP. I plan on playing the #PSP ports of all three OG Persona games.
