In need of advice for writing purposes: how to realistically write a drunken character from their perspective? How are the thoughts and perception of things affected?

But with my follow up question, I meant it as in: because with leaves, I can just say "leaf" without specifying what kind it is. So I wanted to know if I have to specify that it's a tree needle and say it like "pine needle", "spruce needle", etc.
