Rescinding the Definition of βHarmβ Under the Endangered Species Act
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) (collectively referred to as the Services or we) are proposing to rescind the regulatory definition of "harm" ...
Let's use our voices for the voiceless and share comments on this proposed plan to severely weaken the Endangered Species Act. Harming habitat harms wildlife, and protecting it supports biodiversity, it's that simple!
The public has until May 19 to comment on the changes at bit.ly/4lPBjog.

Poster in English covering 7 ways to create a bird-friendly community. Plant native plants to provide food, insects, and shelter for birds and your local ecosystem. Turn off the lights - at night, artificial lights can disrupt bird migration patterns. Use shielded downward-facing lights, timers, and movement sensors. Avoid pesticides and herbicides that decimate beneficial insect populations and contaminate water sources. Combat collisions - every year millions of birds die from colliding with windows. Treat the outside of your windows with patterns, films, or coatings that reduce reflectivity, and look into bird-friendly building standards for new construction. Prevent plastic pollution and reduce use of plastics. Plastics often cause injuries and blockages, entanglements, and habitat destruction. Keep cats away - domestic pets are efficient predators and a significant threat to bird populations, even when cats are well fed. Keep cats indoors, leashed, or in enclosed patios to protect wildlife. Support bird friendly coffee to reduce deforestation from biodiversity-destroying coffee productions.
