to release the time I sealed

  to turn the cold of the silicon piece back into the warmth of that snow

It’s our room now
It’s nobody’s room now
No one lives there
No one writes diaries there

I recorded everything
I sealed the time
in a piece of silicon
Memories change
Memories die
Binary numbers don’t change
Binary numbers don’t die
What does not die
cannot live

When I’m there
I sleep again in my old room
the one I grew up in
Five years ago it was still
no-longer-mine and
not-yet mine
I found the diary of my father
I copied it
Each day
one day
The diary stayed in the room
I got on the plane

Five years ago I got
a WhatsApp message
and didn’t get on the plane

A year later I met my father
