My wife and I had dinner there a couple of years ago. It was excellent!

Was roasting, though. 37°C on the day we arrived and never dropped below 30° for the duration of our visit!

Nerves are beginning to show as some last-minute preparations are made before the wedding ceremony. Features three men in kilts - the celebrant, the groom and best man as well as the venue coordinator and county registrar (obscured). All of the men are wearing kilts and there is a bright floral tribute overhead in the background.

I grabbed this image of the beautiful bride posing for the pro photgrapher (out of shot) with a couple of her relatives after the ceremony. Although bright and dry, the wind was really gusting on Saturday which made the day feel quite chilly for August.

The bride and groom pictured just after they tied the knot. The bride is carrying a bouquet of bright flowers and has a well-deserved cocktail in her other hand. The groom also has a cocktail (mostly out of shot) as well as a bright floral decoration on his lapel.

I was at some friends' #wedding in #EastLothian at the weekend as a guest but I took my camera along anyway, steering well clear of the pros while I did so - they've got a tough enough job as it is without me getting in the way!

The Halfway House is one of my favourite pubs!

An quiet, atmospheric passageway within Palau Guell in Barcelona - a lesser-visited Gaudi residence.

The vaulted ceiling in Palau Guell which (at a guess) was around 30 feet above floor level which itself was already a couple of storeys above ground level. This was a particularly stunning room.

Some brightly coloured mosaic tiling on the roof terrace of Palau Guell. Definitely worth the visit and much, much quieter (and far less expensive) than the more famous Gaudi houses: Casa Batllo or La Pedrera (Casa Mila).

I've been neglecting my account recently. Work has been crazily busy due to a very experienced colleague retiring (good for him!). Things are calming down a little now so, hopefully, I'll get back out with my camera again soon. I'm off to Copenhagen for a week on Thursday so the ideal opportunity!

The sun rises from behind a distant hill. There is water in the foreground which part of the river forth. The sky is a deep red graduated through orange to light yellow.

The sun is a little higher in the sky now and it is reflected on the water and casts shadows of some fencing atop a groyne. There are clothes hooks on the far side which are used by open water swimmers, some of whom are getting ready to enter the water. The sky is turning blue.

I went out on my bike early this morning so I caught the sun rising over East Lothian from Portobello beach.

The beach was busy with walkers, cyclists and open water swimmers.
