1) a lingua franca, Hebrew;
2) they viewed themselves as a distinct group (modern day ethnicity) within the majoritarian culture
3) they saw themselves as part of the larger Jewish people

I am aware of the US’s abysmal history. However, I am comfortable saying US was better than the Reich when they existed at the same time in the middle of the 20th century

Saying the US was the model for what the Reich did is true (in the sense that the Nazis did know abt various US racial laws & incorporated them into their own) but also largely false if your take away is that the Reich’s racial laws and exterminationist policies would not have existed absent the US
