eleutheria Jungkook had always been, if not ashamed, scared of that part of him that didn’t quite fit society’s expectations. Gender was confusing, and so was the prospect of liking girls, settling in with one. It had taken him years to come to terms with his identity, understand who he was, accept himself. The two silhouettes embracing each other on the wall, tainted in lilac and golden hues, surrounded by blooming flowers, represented his entire journey perfectly. He saw himself in those lines: there was his childhood, his rocky teenage years, and his more secure adult self, all wrapped up in the same shape. And beyond that, there was the prospect of a warm future, shared with someone who would understand him. Friendship, companionship, romantic relationship: every shape of love was stretched out on that wall, in the purest form of hope.

The affection he had for Namjoon was misplaced and shouldn't exist, but it was real and sincere nonetheless. Which was probably why it was all so painful. He'd known Namjoon for what, four weeks? Five, top? It was ridiculous for his chest to feel so tight, so frozen. But it hurt, that was a cold truth he couldn't deny. "It's... goodbye. Goodbye for real. It was really nice. You are…. really nice."

Jihoon tried not to think about it too much, tried not to consider how significant their presence here was. They should both be at the dorms, with their teams. But they weren’t, because things were off. Had been off. And they needed that. Dramatically, Jihoon paused to fully take in the sight in front of him. Sanghyeok was standing in front of one of his windows, gazing outside longingly. He looked like the perfect picture of a young CEO looking over the city from his office with his perfectly tailored suit and flawlessly styled hair. He had the aura and the brains to make it work, too. Le ague of Legends should be lucky neither the business world or the modelling industry hadn’t laid his hands on the prodigy. And Jihoon should be lucky that no one had managed to lay their hands on the man at all. Anyone who wasn’t used to Lee ‘Faker’ Sanghyeok would possibly fall either in love or dead on the spot at the simple sight of him, standing there. He was powerful like that, and maybe Jihoon’s opinion was slightly skewed. He wasn’t fooled, either way. He knew the powerful stance, the collected demeanor, was nothing but remnants of the mask he’d had to wear all night. It wouldn’t be long before everything fell.

“Yes. You should be safe in general, this club is careful with their guests, and I won’t be far, but just to be sure. Come here?” Realistically, Jeongguk knows that the informal tone and quick sentences are just showing that for Namjoon, this is just work and that Jeongguk is really just a temporarily help. But the thing is, Jeongguk can’t be realistic. Not when he steps forward and Namjoon’s cool hands cup his face, thumbs stroking over the apples of his cheeks as he peers into the human’s eyes. Not when Namjoon takes one more step forward, reducing the distance between them to almost none. Not when he leans in ever so slightly and closes his eyes. Not when a warm buzz starts to course under Jeongguk’s skin, up his neck and in his temple. It feels nice. So nice. He finds himself closing his eyes, humming softly at the sensation, letting his mind float away. Because he can. Because Namjoon’s got him. It’s stupid and reckless and he shouldn’t be thinking like that, not when Namjoon is doing nothing but make him the perfect bait, not when he’s about to put himself in danger and that realistically, nobody would care if he got hurt. They’d care that a human got caught in the crossfire, but they wouldn’t care if it’s Jeongguk.
