12 horror movies to get to know me

I wish political conflict was just about a difference of opinion, but it not. It's about the ability to exist, to have rights, and to survive. One side doesn't want me and my friends to have these things, and calling that a difference of opinion is to be complicit.

So, the talk went well. Turnout was really low, and I didn't sell any books, but I met four nice people and gave them my business cards. It also sounds like the library wants to carry some of my books, so that's cool.

Yes! My GI doc is taking me off of a prescription-strength antacid. After I ween off of it, I'll only be taking 13 pills per day, plus as-needed meds. It may not seem like a big change from 15, but I'll take it!

I'm going to make roasted sweet potatoes with goat cheese, honey, and candied pecans for dinner tonight. The sweet potatoes and pecans are from the same farmer's market where I got those lovely heirloom tomatoes.

My PTSD got triggered watching 28 Years Later when the father hit his kid. The cancer plotline was rough, too. It's a good movie, but you might want to avoid it if you have problems with either of those subjects.

The day's almost over, but I wanted to make one last post about my husband and I's eleventh wedding anniversary. He's the best, and I'm so glad for all these years and many more!

Our trip to the all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant was cut short because of my stomach problems. We got plenty to eat, though, and it was delicious!

I just realized that the day of my talk (October 11th) is National Coming Out Day. What a perfect day to give a talk about writing queer characters!
