I rewrote the beginning of the Longing for like the 12th time this week. It's getting closer to what I feel is right. Currently stealing liberally from James Joyce's Portrait of the Artist. I figure 5 more rewrites + edit and it'll be ready! #darkfantasy #visualnovel #chroniclesoftaldun

One of my favourite thing about Never Winter's Briar is that it takes time out of the horror and drama for the little things. Arden watching Briar make a stew, how they tap a finger on their lips while choosing a herb to put in, how they cut the meat small because Arden is grossed out by big chunks.

Chronicles of Taldun: the Longing Update:
We are at 120k words now.
The story is about 70% done. So I'll probably write it to 180k, then edit it back down to 120k. That's a lot of baby-killing. (Writer's lingo, no actual babies will be harmed.)

We are turning MWB into a full length novel.
Three novellas will be joined together, one about Briar and Arden, another about Briar and Willow, the woman who raised Briar into who they are. And Eliel's story.
We expect it will be out some time this year.
Is this normal? What do you think?
