Just pushed the first Feature Complete build for a client. A complete rework of UX that adds a first class iPad experience, drops a very bad TCA implementation, maintains interop with an old 3rd party SDK, and resolves hundreds of memory leaks, while mentoring an engineer, all on a 10hr/wk schedule.

When you get a good multi-modal idea and push it through to the end. Well done ExploringTheSimulation!

Is that a feature of Houdini? Or RealityKit?

Wow your Vision Pro environments are really getting good. Those goats look very realistic!

RealityKit has LOD for textures, but not geometry. One could do it manually by measuring distance between camera and object, but it could get complicated if the entity is animated or reacting to physics.

Well said and agree. I turned mine into a performance art piece, with the hopes that it may be useful someday.

Severely disappointed that Pantera did not actually score the movie. One and a half stars.

I took a break after an update that nerfed a lot of weapons, but looks like there is some new content so will hop back in.

Also, if you like 40K games there’s an FPS called Hired Gun which is enjoyable and on sale!

Even though it appears you can turn off iOS 18 notification summaries, I’m still not updating. I expect these sorts of half-baked shenanigans from Google and Meta, but am supremely disappointed with Apple on this.

Business cards from my Halloween costume this year. Literally picked them up from a tiny print shop deep inside Chinatown. $34 for a 100. Good deal. Typos intentional.

Am I not understanding how moderation lists work? If I add an account to one I’ve made, why do I keep seeing posts from the account? Do moderation lists not work on the Discovery feed?

Ha! I know that street. And yes the first few times were odd, but I hardly think about it now. Sitting in the back seats you get to see the tracking monitor and how the car is visualizing, or rather presenting to you, what it β€œsees”.

I was interning at a little company called Itron. My managers let me tag along as they tried to figure out how to use Java for meter UI apps (in conjunction with Itron’s remote utility consumption meters installed on houses).

The saxophone is the pinnacle of human musical instrument invention that can only be improved upon by taking to down to the nearest lake and throwing it in.

This was common among club DJs in the mid 00s (before USB sticks took over). You’d burn your set (or sets or playlists or folders) to CD then jam into the CDJs at the club. To note: low bit rate or VBR tracks sound terrible on huge club sound systems, so I only burned AIFF tracks.
