In positive Eglinton Crosstown LRT news, yesterday I noticed that the dot matrix signs on the platform of my local stop were not only updating with next train info (which I've occasionally seen before) but it was actually reasonably accurate (first time for that).

It's about 14 years since actual construction work between on the LRT and it still doesn't have an opening date ... and didn't the station building start serving passengers before completion? Anyway, neither one is an impressive performance.

Still faster than the Eglinton Crosstown LRT 😟

I agree fare cap > Metropass, but did you account for:
a) hiking fares to pay for the cap will chase away riders, needing a bigger fare hike to compensate
b) the extra riders from fare capping will increase costs, needing a bigger fare hike to compensate

Documents obtained by CBC News found Ford's government had studied tunneling under Highway 401, but quietly shelved the unreleased work in 2021. As Global News reported earlier on Wednesday, the work came to a stop after the province's internal analysis found a "potential for roadway collapse" and "risks to public safety." Ford said he "can't even remember what happened in 2021" and that the project now is a "fresh" start to mitigate traffic issues.
