My personal view. I would have loved Eze, felt he would give us that spark we needed in some games & alleviate responsibility from Odegaard. I also think we still need to upgrade on the left. Regardless of the outcome, always support the team. (3/3)

• If we sign a LW, Trossard can shift into attacking mid (he did last season).
• If we don’t get a LW, he covers the wing without blowing the budget for future windows.

Not saying he’s better than Eze (I’m a big fan of Eze), but hear me out:
• Talks over Trossard’s deal have dragged on all summer.
• Suddenly, as Eze-to-Spurs heats up, Trossard’s pay rise is agreed. Coincidence? 🤔 1/?

Hopefully that performance is the exception rather than the rule moving forward. Putting it down to early season caution due to tough opening fixtures.

Utd away was another frustrating result, but in an oddly positive way the frustrations we have are an indicator of how far we have come as a club & our expectations as a fan base over the last 3 seasons.

One last CL comment for this evening, looking at the results over the last two days - Lillie’s draw away to Dortmund hasn’t been given the credit it deserves. They’ve been very very good in the CL this season.

Fair play Liverpool. Done all they needed too. Konate decision aside, PSG need must be fuming they never finished that tie tonight.

I think we also need to look at what is happening at youth level, seems like a few boys who needed loans never got them, why is that and how can our youth development be better.

It sounds like there are still governance issues within the executive team that should be looked to be improved/ streamlined - it feels like we are far too slow to move in the market. Hopefully a permanent sporting director goes some way to improving that.

The window did not deliver what I had hoped for, but if the columns & opinions published today are to be believed I think we are entitled to expected an ambitious summer window to consolidate us as a genuinely competitive club on all fronts.

£60m plus for a 29 y/o isn’t as much of a ‘risk’ as people are saying. Footballers these days are playing longer… there’s probably around 4/5 top level seasons in Watkins left. He’s prem proven, only downside for me is cup tied for league cup & im guessing same for CL… but that the winter market
