I want to give a digital high five to @jbyoder.org - I was recently asked to give a talk on Co-evolution between plants and their pollinators to our local California Native Plant Society chapter meeting- and I found his work on Yucca moths and Yucca. Really fun!

I've been asked to give a talk about native plant and pollinator co-evolution in California. While I have some of my own ideas, I'd love to hear from the group what are your favorite native plant & pollinator pairings. Any anecdotes or special observations to share?

I had a,wonderful day teaching a workshop about native bees at Bouverie Preserve in Glen Ellen, CA yesterday. The participants were engaged and the flowers were popping!

You didn’t hear this from us, but the Old English word 'sibb' meant “related by blood.”

This is where we get the 'sibling.'

And 'godsibb' essentially meant “godparent.”

Over time, it came to mean "close friend."

Now it is something we share w/ close friends...

Happy birthday to me! We planted a tree in the morning and finished moving out of our old place this afternoon. Literally moving into a new chapter.

Gathered some native plants for the Biology department's booth at an event this weekend, found a cicada, and my library request came in. A decent afternoon!

Beauties!

In reality, the tech imaged one at a time and my breast tissue was lightly compressed on top by a clear plastic plate. The most uncomfortable part was my armpit being near the corner of the bottom plate. It wasn't painful at all.

Had my first mammogram today. It was really no big deal. From things I heard, I expected my b00bs to be mashed/rolled/kneaded repeatedly between two plates during the test.

That's messed up! I'd be upset also.

I have a colleague who studies Elephant seals and uses K for anesthesia while doing blood draws and hormone challenges. Has a special locker within a locker to keep it safe.

Never knew the tequila "worm" was a beetle larva!!

Anyway we could class action suit our way to getting our contributions back?
