pretty sure that kiki set out with literally just the clothes on her back, and so does zoro. so sanji's letting zoro have some of his clothes and zoro is very pleased to have his old boots because he thinks they look cooler.

the others point out that sanji's place has a spare room so he winds up staying there. and when he still can't make it to kuina's the next day, it turns out to be a more permanent arrangement than expected.

they drag him along to the east blue crew's meet-up spot where sanji and nami are waiting. he asks for directions then learns how far off he is. it would probably take 2 hours to fly there (more because he cant fly straight but he's not admitting that) so he decides to settle down temporarily.

when he lands, he tries to follow kuina's directions on the ground but unsurprisingly can't find the right starting point considering he's in the completely wrong town. but he meets luffy and usopp!!

(i hope you can tell that that's a marimo on a broom below.) SO. you're supposed to fly in the direction your broom is pointing at, right. but zoro somehow manages to fly diagonally while his broom points straight. it's impressive, really. but very unhelpful. so he ends up along the east blue.

kuina settles somewhere where there is a small community of witches (tashigi, okiku) so invites zoro along because it seems like a good idea to learn from each other to become the best. unfortunately, zoro is shit with directions.

i know there's something up with the swords and grades because i read through the op wiki when i thought i would never pick up the anime. so the swords are now cats and the high grade swords are cats with unnaturally long lifespans to play into that 9 lives thing. wado is a large, wise, white cat.

so zoro and kuina grow up in shimotsuki village. kuina doesn't die and when she's 13 she sets off for her training with wano, who is a cat. i imagine that before this they are raised by zoro's mom, tera, but that's just because i don't know many swordswomen from the series yet who could teach them 😭

with how popular the trans zoro hc is, i thought someone would have already written this au on ao3 or something but to my shock... none!!!!! so i took it upon myself to waste away hours thinking about them :D it was very easy to spiral down that thought train. and now i'm here
