It's not a 4/3 after combat, but a 4/4 with 1 damage marked on it. Being dealt damage doesn't modify the toughness. So the -3/-3 makes it a 1/1 with 1 damage marked on it. Being indestructible still prevents it from dying.

And for the reprint issue, just proxy them. WoTC will never limit what cards I play by not reprinting them.

We're coming at this from different angles then. Which is totally fair. I believe that mosts players issue with UB is the flavor and that's what they'd want to get rid of with a non-UB format. And I'm completely with you there that it's impossible to get rid of.
