I think you *could* make a practical fully p2p system but it's actually deploying and upgrading it that's the biggest PITA.
We need a p2p os, we need grimwire.
we needed took a hardcore line with ssb because we needed to prove a concept, that a broad spectrum fully decentralized app is *possible* but bsky is trying to find the best of both worlds
