The difference is that bluesky is based around a secure protocol, and this means that it should always be possible to have 3rd party clients, or be used in other apps. It's not as decentralized as ssb, but it leaves "X" in the dust. It's a good compromise, I think.

yes. and it probably happens faster than you can sheet out. otoh the raptor16 does look pretty serious and it had some fans, so it might have been good. I guess it needs to be deep enough? or maybe have a wand controlling it like a foiler?

but really the trouble with stuff like this is actually measuring it accurately, otherwise it's just theory. at least with racing you can make changes then see if you can inch ahead of the other guy

also using hydronamic lift for righting moment means creating induced drag, but shifting crew weight doesn't. So I think don't try to use foils for that until you are going as fast as you can shifting weight.
