Anyway, hope y'all didn't mind me sharing some opinions for once instead of just letting them simmer in mine ol' brain (why did I say it like that)

I still need to sit on my thoughts for this Direct and social media isn't great for nuanced takes anyway, but I thought I'd try getting them out here

I dunno, I think I just wasn't that impressed, but that's okay

I'm guessing we'll get a second Direct at some point, so hopefully that'll give me more info and get me more hyped up

But yeah, for right now... I found the first teaser trailer more exciting than this, I don't know how else to say it

Speaking of which, the new characters are fine IMO

Rosalina looks and sounds good, and I don't mind Bowser Jr., though I understand – and kind of agree with – others' issues with his voice and design, but I'm sure I'll get used to it

(and Yoshi remains MIA I guess, I legit forgot about him)

Sure, Bowser Jr. wants his papa back, I get that, and it's kinda fun to see Bowser in the "kidnapped princess" role for once... but what else? How do the other characters fit into the narrative?

Like, I (sadly) still haven't played Odyssey but have seen enough of it that the second I saw that upside-down pyramid, I went "is... is that Tostarena?"

So yeah, it looks like they're taking a few creative liberties with the locations they'll visit, which is fun

The fact that it's not just a retelling of the games caught me off guard in a good way; I like that it's trying to be its own thing

That being said, the trailer didn't have much that hooked me other than iconic characters and visuals, and even then... eh?
