I'm halfway through 2 weeks of non-weight bearing on my L foot. My arms are feeling it. The silver lining . . . the last time I was non-weight bearing (37yrs ago), my push-ups improved dramatically afterwards.
Maybe I'll be able to do calisthenics like this?

I enjoy listening to audiobooks from the library while I sew. No AI, no commercial breaks.
07.03.2026 18:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I wonder, is it as awesome and fulfilling for a quilting technique teacher to see a student embrace and succeed with the technique as it is for say a math teacher to see one of their students go on to be a famous mathematician or scientist, using the knowledge learned from them?
07.03.2026 18:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was going to say, that's not ugly.

I thought post surgery I could elevate my foot and get a lot of sewing done, maybe even finish a few quilt tops uninterrupted. I haven't even made it upstairs. My sewing room is upstairs.
Man plans, G-d laughs.
G-d thinks I'm a riot. LOL
Thanks. My arms are getting stronger due to the non weight bearing challenge. Figuring out how to best use the devices on hand is a bigger learning curve than anticipated.

Sweet little Sarah looking concerned.
The view from here. Non weight bearing for two weeks. It's not going well. And my poor pup doesn't know what to think of the situation.

02.03.2026 04:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Like clockwork, I socialized, I got sick. The first weekend in February I went to the QOV quilt retreat. I came home with a fever and sore throat. This weekend I went to FL, AQS, and visited family and came home with a head cold. I wish I had a normal immune system.

One of the quilt guilds at the AQS quilt show had several sewing machines set up and had preped kits to make fidget mats. I had a lot of fun pitching in for their service project. I hope it goes to someone who can enjoy it in good health.
