One could think a FRANKENSTEIN adaptation by Guillermo Del Toro would be redundant, but it's actually delightful: exquisite craftmanship and a brilliant casting both serving a punchier version of the myth. I loved it.

If anything, BADLANDS proves that you can get away with that infamous "videogame storytelling" as long as a) you bring a cool idea to the table (the Yautja is now the hero!) and b) you stay true to it throughout your story. I wish it could be more polished, but it's a good franchise recalibration.

I'm not sure as to why. But the answer will certainly revive the discourse (tm) on videogame storytelling. What? The guy who broke out with a PORTAL fan film stole most of his ideas from popular video games? What a surprise!

Dan Trachtenberg said he was desperate for a PREDATOR videogame, so I guess he just made one with BADLANDS. There are quests to receive, levels to explore, bosses to face, and you can almost hear the barks system playing in the background. But curiously enough, it works.

Oui, les commentaires sur les cams, c'est vraiment le dernier clou dans le cercueil. Ils savent déjà qu'ils ne risquent rien, et ils sont fiers de le montrer.

Le truc délirant avec les bodycams, c'est que les forces de l'ordre les ignorent complètement mais que sans elles, on n'aurait jamais vu d'images aussi accablantes.

Le contexte est très différent avec la France mais il y a tout de même ceci à retenir : quand la gauche comprend que rassurer l’électorat de droite n’est pas ce qu'on attend d’eux, il y a moyen de se concentrer sur les problèmes des gens et d’essayer de réfléchir à des solutions.
